«What if?»
Pastor Andrey Shapovalov
We often think that destiny is something we just have to wait for, and eventually it will come. But allow me to challenge that thought. (The greatest thing that happens during waiting is preparation). Our destiny depends on many factors, and one of the most important is how we prepare for the direction we’re headed.
You know, we often resemble people who are too afraid to place a bet on the stock exchange—time is running out, and many never place the bet at all.
(Ecclesiastes 11:4) “Whoever watches the wind will not plant; whoever looks at the clouds will not reap.”
I don’t want to live my life and then torment myself with that foolish question: What if?
What if Ruth did not followed Naomi?
What if Esther hadn’t gone in to see the king?
What if Samson had stood firm and not broken down?
What if Jesus hadn’t gone to the cross?
Often, the greatest things are hidden in small decisions, and right there—in the small things—lies your destiny.
What if you are currently wasting the best years of your life—not doing what you were born for, and not even preparing for it?
For me personally, that is a dangerous question. That’s why I keep moving forward. I’m not afraid of mistakes—they’ll happen. I would rather deal with my mistakes than wrestle with the question: What if?
Do you know how tired I am of hearing people say: “God isn’t using me,” or “I don’t see when my breakthrough will come”?
(Ecclesiastes 11:6) “Sow your seed in the morning, and at evening let your hands not be idle, for you do not know which will succeed, whether this or that, or whether both will do equally well.”
God has long been calling you to a prolonged fast—why are you ignoring Him?
God has told you to give a specific offering—that offering is connected to your dream.
God has told you to cut ties with certain people—those very people are blocking you.
What if that small obedience is the key that unlocks your entire breakthrough?
Release your dream through your obedience and your sacrifice.
What if Solomon had never made that offering?
The rich young ruler wanted to enter his destiny, but Jesus named the price—and he couldn’t pay it.
But what if he had?
(The price will always be there—and always be worth it.)
Life is motion, and in motion, there is rhythm. Once you find your rhythm, nothing can stop you.
What if your breakthrough has been waiting on you—not God?
What if heaven is fully aligned, angels are on standby, doors are already assigned to open—but you’re still stuck at the threshold, afraid to knock?
(Revelation 3:8) “Behold, I have set before you an open door, which no one is able to shut…”
But you still have to walk through it.
What if your daily excuses are the bricks of the wall keeping you from your purpose?
What if your delay is disguised as “wisdom,” when in fact it’s just fear wearing a mask?
Many are waiting for a “confirmation” when what God is asking for is consecration.
You’re waiting for a prophetic word, but God is waiting for your obedient action.
You’re asking for a sign, but God already gave you Scripture.
(James 2:17) “Faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead.”
What if this very moment is the tipping point?
Not tomorrow. Not next year. Not “when things get better.”
Now.
Because destiny isn’t only about arrival—it’s about alignment.
And alignment comes through motion. Trusting steps. Costly decisions. Silent sacrifices.
So again, what if?
What if you fasted like God asked?
What if you gave like He prompted?
What if you separated from what’s draining you?
What if you finally stopped circling the same mountain?
What if everything you’re praying for is waiting on the other side of your yes?
Don’t spend your life haunted by the echo of that question.
Instead, live in the power of: “I did. I moved. I obeyed.”
And let heaven write the rest.
May the Heavenly Father bless you!
